Biography

After qualifying at St. Bart’s and the Royal London School of Medicine, Dr Raj Bathula completed his general medical training in London and specialised in Geriatric and General internal medicine. His keen interest in stroke led him to undertake a PhD at Imperial College.

He was appointed as a Consultant to the hyperacute stroke unit at Northwick Park in 2010. This unit is ranked as the best unit in the UK over the last few years by the Royal College of Physicians and has also won a national award for research and clinical leadership. His work there includes the care of stroke patients as well as those mini strokes or TIAs. Dr Bathula also looks after acute general medical and geriatric patients. He has been awarded Clinical excellence awards for his NHS practice.

Dr Raj Bathula is a keen teacher at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as examining for both Imperial College and the Royal College of Physicians.
