Trained in Israel as a specialist in family medicine, Dr Tal Helbitz has spent the past 18 years in the UK, leading a team of primary care physicians in a 12,000 patient North London NHS general practice. He has also served as a board member for the Barnet clinical commissioning board serving a population of 400k in North London. In this role, he led the digital transformation of primary care in the area and oversaw a £9m project to connect community and hospital clinical records.
Tal is a research physician and an advisor to the KI Research Institute, a non-for-profit organisation that is involved in data-driven research on clinical data sets to produce insights and develop tools, policies or practices that impact health.
Tal is an active member of the Balint Society which explores the doctor-patient relationship. He is also a member of the Q community, a UK initiative to foster continuous and sustainable improvement in health and care. Tal received his MD from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University (Honour Award from the Sheba Medical Center) and qualified as a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

Tal is a spinning class addict and loves running outdoors (when it’s not too rainy!). He loves reading and dreams of becoming a sushi chef.
