Mr Sudhanshu Chitale is a highly-skilled urologist. He has a wealth of experience, having performed over 20,000 urological operations. He has more than 35 years surgical and teaching experience, and has special expertise in andrology (the medical specialty that deals with male health), male infertility, female urology and children’s urological problems.
His subspecialties include the management of Peyronie’s disease, kidney stones, prostate cancer, prostatitis, UTIs and urinary incontinence.
Mr Chitale is a winner of multiple awards, including the Top Teacher Award for UCL Medical School in 2014, the Excellence in Medical Education Award in 2016, and the Fellowship of the Academy of Medical Educators in 2019.
He is a member of several learned bodies & organisations, including the Association of Clinical Research Professionals panel, the Core Surgical Training interview panel at the London Deanery and the editorial board for the BMJ medical journal’s case reports.
Examiner, personal advisor and mentor for UCL Medical Students, he served as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at UCL and UEA Norwich, and currently works as a Site Lead for Undergraduate Teaching for UCL Med School at Whittington Health NHS Trust.
Mr Chitale has been featured in over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals. In addition, he was the principal author of the first-ever randomised controlled trial on shock wave therapy for Peyronie’s disease.
