Our Maxillofacial Clinic is located at St John & St Elizabeth Hospital in St John’s Wood (NW8). The main entrance is on Grove End Road, with an additional entrance on Circus Road. We are easily accessible for patients from Hampstead (NW3), Kilburn (NW6) and across North and Central London.
By Tube: St John’s Wood station (Jubilee Line) is a 5-minute walk to and from St John & St Elizabeth Hospital.
By Bus: Routes 13, 46 and 113 stop near St John’s Wood Underground Station. Routes 139 and 189 stop on Abbey Road.
By Car: Finchley Road and Kilburn High Road provide direct routes from NW3 and NW6.
Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are uniquely dual-qualified in both medicine and dentistry. While an oral surgeon focuses primarily on procedures within the mouth, such as tooth extractions and minor surgery, a maxillofacial surgeon also treats conditions affecting the wider face, jaws, head and neck, including facial trauma, jaw realignment and the removal of tumours and cysts.
Many patients are referred to our Maxillofacial Clinic by their dentist or GP, but you can also book a private consultation directly. If you are using private medical insurance, your insurer may require a referral before your appointment, so it is worth checking with them first.
At your initial consultation, your consultant will discuss your symptoms and medical history, examine the affected area and may arrange imaging such as an X-ray or CT scan if needed. They will then explain your diagnosis and the treatment options available, answering any questions you may have so you can make an informed decision about your care
