Our private walk-in Urgent Care Clinic provides prompt assessment and treatment for a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries in children aged one year and over.

Common paediatric presentations include:
- High temperatures (fever)

- Sore throats and tonsillitis

- General childhood illnesses requiring assessment

Appointment price
Urgent Care appointments for children cost £140.
This fee is for an initial consultation with a doctor, and if you need any scans, tests, or further treatment, these will be communicated with you in advance. If you have health insurance, you can ask your provider for treatment authorisation at this point.
Opening times
Our opening times are Monday to Friday: 8am – 8pm (last patient seen at 7pm), and Saturday & Sunday: 8am – 6pm (last patient seen at 5pm)
Children’s Minor Injury Care
Sometimes accidents happen so minor injuries are a common part of growing up. Our Urgent Care Clinic provides prompt assessment and treatment for a range of childhood injuries, helping parents access expert medical advice and care when they need it most. The clinic will see children for things such as:
- Falls
- Sports injuries
- Minor fractures
- Sprains and strains
- Cuts and wounds
- Minor burns
- Head injury assessment
Treatment may include wound closure, dressings, casts, splints and follow-up advice. Children with minor head injuries can be assessed by the clinical team including guidance on recovery, returning to school and normal activities.
Children’s Fever Service
The clinic provides assessment of children with fevers and common childhood infections.
Clinicians can assess symptoms, identify warning signs of more serious illness and provide guidance on treatment, hydration, symptom management and when further medical review may be required.

While our Urgent Care Clinic is designed for children who need prompt assessment and treatment, we also offer a wide range of paediatric services for non-urgent health concerns.
Our experienced paediatric consultants provide specialist care for children from birth to 17 year of age, across a range of medical and surgical specialties, with appointments within our dedicated Paediatric Clinic at St John & St Elizabeth Hospital.
