St John & St Elizabeth Hospital is renowned for its highly specialised clinics that provide exemplary care for patients. Our expert Consultants cover the full range of specialties and are able to treat almost any medical condition.
We’re proud to be the chosen Hospital for some of the world’s leading Consultants. Our specialist Consultants cover a wide range of specialisms and are committed to our values as a Hospital.
Over the coming months, in planned phases, we’re opening the last few areas of our £35million new wing; the biggest single investment in our 165-year history. The new wing is the jewel in our crown and will ensure we can continue to deliver excellent care and impeccable standards.
Located at the heart of leafy St John’s Wood, we’re proud to work with some of the world’s finest consultants at the forefront of their field. Should you be in need of a general check-up, or have a health concern you’d like to address, our admissions team will take the time to find you the earliest possible appointment with the best specialist for your needs. Most appointments are confirmed within one working day, though if it’s urgent, we’ll handle it within hours.
This year, we’re celebrating our 165th anniversary, and the launch of the new wing has been the perfect way to honour our rich heritage, as well as look to the future and usher in an exciting new chapter.
To date, we’ve opened six amazing new theatres with the latest technology and surgical equipment, as well as a fully upgraded department for scans and tests (such as MRIs and X-rays), so should the need arise, it’s possible to get a quick and accurate diagnosis.
We’ve also opened an area specifically for day visitors, with a layout that matches the treatment flow. As such, the welcome lobby leads to private changing rooms; and these to the treatment area, which features two spacious theatres.
After treatment, people can rest and recuperate in one of nine ensuite rooms, and when it’s time to leave, a short walkway filled with natural light leads to a comfortable lounge where it’s possible to have cup of tea and read the paper.
“The new wing will provide state-of-the-art facilities, enabling us to expand our capacity to treat patients in superb surroundings.” Caroline Fox, CEO
You can ask your GP for a referral to us. If you don’t have one, or are struggling to contact them, we have a private GP Clinic. Get in touch and the team will do their best to find you the earliest possible appointment with the best specialist. For anything urgent, you can get a same-day appointment with a highly experienced doctor from £150. They’ll take the time to listen to your concerns and either treat you without delay, or refer you to one of our world-class consultants.
Since our foundation in 1865, under the care of the Sisters of Mercy, an order of nuns who worked with Florence Nightingale during the Crimean war, we have always pioneered the use of advanced nursing techniques to help those in need.
Now, 165-years later we remain true to our purpose. As well as being one of the most advanced independent hospitals in the UK, all proceeds from treatments help fund our onsite St John’s Hospice, which provides free chronic and end-of-life care to over 4,500 people and their families each year.
