Dr Bhattacharjee studied at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals (later Kings College) where he achieved a 1st Class in Physiology and went on to successfully complete an MB/PhD programme funded by the Migraine Trust and qualified with distinction.
He did all his post-graduate general medical training at St. Thomas’, Hammersmith, Royal Brompton, National (Queen Square) and Kings College Hospitals. He completed his Specialist Registrar training in Neurology between the Royal Free Hospital and the National Hospital (Queen Square) where he did a locum consultant post in Neuromuscular disease prior to completing his training.
He is a Consultant Neurologist working between the Lister and Royal Free Hospitals. He has a large general neurology practice at Lister and runs a specialist service in neuromuscular and peripheral nerve diseases at the Royal Free Hospital.
He is a member of the Royal Free IVIg committee and has helped develop a large plasma exchange service treating patients with various neuro-immunological disorders.
He presents work regularly at national and international conferences and has served in an advisory capacity to pharmaceutical companies involved in the treatment of neuro-immunological diseases including MS and CIDP.
