Saurabh Jain is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Director of Clinical Services at the Royal Free London NHS Trust and Training Program Director for the North Thames Deanery, London, U.K.
He specialises in paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, botox and cataract surgery.
He started his ophthalmology career at Kings College Hospital and subsequently underwent specialist training at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and fellowship training at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.
He runs a full time clinical service at the Royal Free, Whittington, Barnet General and UCLH hospitals, which includes clinical work, training junior surgeons and allied clinical professionals, research and educational activities. His private practice is based at the Hospital of St. John and St. Elizabeth, The London Clinic and The Portland Hospital for Women and Children.
He is an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the European Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Association of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and the International Strabismological Association. As a member of the Skills faculty at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists , he regularly teaches trainee surgeons on the Microsurgical skills course. He also runs the Binocular and London Eye Courses at the Royal Free Hospital.
