Our Charity

Private Healthcare with a purpose

St John & St Elizabeth Hospital is a charity, meaning that every time you visit us for treatment, you are helping to fund our on-site Hospice, St. John’s.

Profits from our world-renowned Hospital go towards providing free specialist palliative care to over 4, 500 patients and their families each year. Patients receive the support and treatment they need in a safe and secure environment, and receive the very highest standards of care. Unlike other private hospitals, when you have your treatment with us you are also helping to improve the lives of people in your local community.

Every appointment supports our on-site Hospice

Inpatient unit

The Hospice inpatient unit houses 18 beds for patients living with complex terminal illnesses and those who need 24-hour care. For more than 30 years this unit has served seven London boroughs.

Day care centre

The Hospice day care centre provides palliative care, complementary therapies, resources and activity support groups for patients and bereaved relatives.

Hospice@Home

Our Hospice@Home service extends care provided by our Hospice to those who want to remain at home, in familiar and comfortable surroundings during the later stages of their illness.

Our Ethos

As a charity, we must operate on a not-for-profit basis and our assets are used for charitable purposes.

We need your help to continue providing the best possible care and support to our patients and their loved ones. Without the generosity and commitment of our supporters, we could not continue to care for more than 4,500 patients every year in our day centre, residential unit, and in their own homes, or to support the friends and family of our patients.
