Raisa earned her BSc from the University of Santo Tomas and started her career as a licensed physiotherapist in the Philippines. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and a practicing member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, the Pelvic Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP) and the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).

Raisa started her career in one of the biggest tertiary hospitals in the Philippines wherein she was able to handle a vast number of clinical conditions including MSK, geriatric, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and post-operative conditions for both an in and out-patient setting. She has experience working with both NHS and private patients. During her time with the NHS, she also worked in primary care as a First Contact Physiotherapist – a specialized role focused on assessing, diagnosing, and providing appropriate treatment or referrals for musculoskeletal issues at a patient’s initial point of contact. Her main clinical interest is in treating musculoskeletal conditions.

Raisa has expanded her practice to include pelvic health physiotherapy for women, treating a wide range of conditions including:

Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, including:

  • Urinary symptoms (urgency, frequency, incontinence, incomplete emptying)
  • Bowel symptoms (constipation, faecal urgency, incontinence)
  • Pregnancy-Related MSK Conditions, including:
  • Pelvic girdle pain (PGP)
  • Pelvic pain
  • Postnatal assessment and rehabilitation

Breast Cancer Rehabilitation, including:

  • Axillary cording (post-surgical)
  • Post-operative rehabilitation

Raisa also offers Western Medical Acupuncture and Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS) as part of her pelvic health service.
