We believe in a holistic approach to care that respects the individuality and preferences of each patient, encouraging independence wherever possible.
Before the Consultation
The journey to comprehensive elderly care begins with a thorough assessment of the individual’s health and well-being.
Here’s what to expect:
Appointment
Scheduling an initial consultation is the first step towards obtaining the care your loved one needs. Our patient coordinators are here to assist with arranging a convenient time for you to meet with our geriatric specialists.
Gathering Information
Prior to your appointment, gathering important health documents and medical history will be crucial. This helps our team to fully understand the health challenges your loved one is facing and tailor the consultation accordingly.
Preparing Questions
It’s important to come prepared with questions or concerns you may have about your loved one’s care. This ensures that you leave the consultation with a clear understanding of the next steps.
What to Bring
Please bring any relevant medical records, a list of medications, and your list of questions to the consultation. This information will aid our specialists in providing the most accurate and helpful advice.

How to pay for your treatment
If you’re… paying for yourself
Did you know you don’t need private medical insurance to come to St John & St Elizabeth Hospital? As a self-pay patient, you can access safe, outstanding quality health care at times to suit you.
For scans and tests, as well as to see most consultants, you’ll still need to be referred by a medical professional like your GP, but as a self-pay patient, the process is more straightforward. You won’t need authorisation from an insurance provider, and you’ll have greater choice of consultant and appointment times.
