About Carlos Cobiella
Mr Carlos Cobiella is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Shoulder & Elbow Surgeon. At St John & St Elizabeth Hospital, he offers expert diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of upper limb problems, with a particular focus on sports injuries, rotator cuff injuries, fractures and minimally invasive surgery.
He trained at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, developing specialist expertise in shoulder, elbow and peripheral nerve conditions. He later joined University College London Hospitals, where he played a key role in developing the Upper Limb Service within a leading academic environment.
Mr Cobiella works closely with elite athletes and sporting organisations, including the English Institute of Sport, UK Athletics and the British Olympic Association. He was part of the medical team for the London 2012 Olympic Games and is the NFL Upper Limb Surgeon in Europe. His experience at this level informs his approach to helping patients return to activity safely and effectively.
He is actively involved in teaching, research and the development of new surgical techniques, and is a regular faculty member at national and international courses in arthroscopic and sports injury surgery.
