Mr Reza Mobasheri

Mr Reza Mobasheri is a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon and Trauma Surgeon with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of spinal conditions. His NHS practice is based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where he works across St Mary’s Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital and has been a consultant since 2012.

Mr Mobasheri studied medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical Schools and also obtained a degree in psychology before qualifying in 1998. Following general surgical training in London and Surrey, he completed specialist orthopaedic training in South West London.

Having developed a specialist interest in spinal surgery early in his career, Mr Mobasheri undertook an advanced fellowship in complex spinal surgery at the internationally recognised Krembil Neuroscience Centre in Toronto, Canada.

He provides expert assessment and spine care for patients with both common and complex spinal conditions. His practice includes non-surgical and surgical treatment for back and neck pain, with expertise in minimally invasive techniques, spinal decompression, spinal fusion and surgery affecting both the cervical and lumbar spine.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Mobasheri co-runs the spinal service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and is involved in the management of patients admitted through one of the UK’s busiest major trauma centres. He is also part of the Imperial vertebral compression fracture service and spine referral pathway.

He continues to contribute to specialist spinal care through his work in complex spinal surgery, spinal trauma and the management of degenerative spinal conditions.
