Professor Lee Dvorkin graduated from Leeds University Medical School and completed his basic surgical training in Wessex. In 2002, he undertook a period of research at The Royal London Hospital.

His research focused on pelvic floor disorders and has been presented both nationally and internationally. Professor Dvorkin was awarded an MD by the University of London for this work and he continues with his surgical research and to publish original works.

Professor Lee Dvorkin undertook higher surgical training in London which he completed in 2010. He then undertook an 18 month specialist fellowship at St Marks Hospital prior to being appointed as a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at the North Middlesex University Hospital and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College Hospital, London.

Professor Dvorkin currently holds numerous appointments including; Clinical Lead for the Department of General Surgery at NMUH and Training Programme Director of Foundation doctors at NMUH. Professor Dvorkin is training the next generation of colorectal surgeons as Director of a RCS Senior Clinical Fellowship programme, one of only 10 surgeons in England to hold such a position.

Professor Lee Dvorkin’s clinical practice includes the investigation and management of gastrointestinal problems, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, abdominal pain and all common anal conditions (rectal bleeding, haemorrhoids, fissures and fistulae).

He is formally accredited in colonoscopy and gastroscopy and undertakes laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for gallstones, appendicitis, hernias and bowel cancer.
