Today, on International Nurses day we say a special thank you to our incredible team of nursing staff at the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth. Our team of compassionate nurses are rated number one in the country for care; regularly going above and beyond for patients.
International nurses day is marked on the 12th May each year, the anniversary of Florence Nightingales birth. Nursing at the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth can be dated back to the Sisters of Mercy, who, along with Florence Nightingale founded nursing practices of the highest kind during the Crimean War.
Today our team of nurses work around the clock for our patients in our state of the art facilities in St John’s Wood, as well as caring for patients in their own homes from our Community Specialist Palliative Care Nurses and Hospice@Home team.
Our Nurses are truly the heroes of the Hospital, who are regularly praised for their good humour and expert clinical knowledge.
‘During my 3 days on ward, I was cared for so well. I wish to especially mention the Head Nurse St Francis. Such kindness cannot go unmentioned, I was mentally and physically in a rather bad way and she comforted me and assured me everything would be ok. It meant so much to me.’
‘With lasting gratitude and admiration for the warmth, dedication, professionalism and love you have all shown us, thank you.’
‘I was admitted on your ward and I experienced the best care I have ever had whilst in a hospital. All the nurses were wonderful and caring to me. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They always greeted me with a smile and helped me with any questions I had or any help I required.’
‘Every single member of staff I came into contact with, were professional and compassionate and extremely friendly, Thank you.’
We are on the look out for new nursing staff to join our team. If you would like to hear about current vacancies and apply please contact [email protected].
Once again on International Nurses Day – we thank all our nurses for all of their hard work and compassionate care!
