Staff Spotlight: Michael Peche Cardiology, Respiratory & Autonomic Services Manager
Michael Peche, the Cardiology, Respiratory & Autonomic Services Manager has been with the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth for five years and oversees the team providing a highly specialised diagnostic for a wide variety of automatic disorders.
Michael explains, “Shortly after joining, I helped set up the Autonomic service that plays a key role in aiding Consultants in the diagnosis of autonomic disorders – which is also important in the tailoring of an individual treatment and management plan. In the beginning, the service was fairly small whereas now, five years later we have a whole department and two state-of-the-art laboratories incorporating the latest advances in no-invasive technology.”
“Our teams aim is always to help patients with autonomic symptoms, some of which are multiple and complex, to successfully manage their daily lives.”
“I also oversee the management of Cardiology which forms a key part of our hospital services and prides itself on providing patients with highest levels of care, staffed by world-leading Cardiologists using the latest advances to technology.”
“The team here at the hospital is truly second to none, the Cardiology, Respiratory and Autonomic teams are very hard working and provide each other with help and support where ever we can. One of the things I love about the job is the ability to work collaboratively with teams all across the hospital. We always encourage staff from other departments to spend some time shadowing our work or ask us questions about patient tests and results where they can.”
