As one of the few specialist allergy centres in London, led by experts in both adult and paediatric allergies, we are ideally placed to offer effective investigation and management of all known allergies.

Unfortunately, in the UK there is a large gap between demand for allergy services and what is available, with a very small number of doctors choosing to specialise in allergy. Around 3 million children and adults a year are seen in primary care with allergic symptoms, and yet GPs receive little or no training in allergies.

The Allergy Unit at St John & St Elizabeth Hospital, is uniquely run by Consultants who specialise in allergies. Our specialist Allergy Consultants include Dr Lee Noimark and Dr Dan Ornadel.

Expertise

St John & St Elizabeth Hospital offers first class allergy care for children and adults. Our experts offer a comprehensive service covering all aspects of food allergy, food intolerance, rash, eczema, asthma and hay fever in all ages.

The Consultants assess each patient individually on case history and symptoms, and will appropriately tailor the testing to identify and treat the problem.

Allergy testing

We offer a direct access allergy skin prick testing service for general practitioners and their patients.

On arrival, patients will be asked to complete a questionnaire and a physiologist will administer the skin prick tests. These will cover allergens to investigate food allergies, food intolerances, eczema, hayfever and asthma.

A report will be written by a Consultant, based on the test results and the questionnaire. The report will be sent direct to the patient’s general practitioner or specialist.

Please note: Patients referred to this service will not be seen by the Consultant.

Our allergy Consultants

The staff and Consultants at London Allergy Specialists can accurately diagnose and offer treatment or advice for the full range of paediatric and adult allergic conditions. The Consultants are supported by a team of experts including specialists in skin prick allergy testing, respiratory physiology and assessment and paediatric nurses.
