Hay fever is a common seasonal allergy to grass and plant pollen, also known as allergic rhinitis. It is most common in children and teenagers but can occur at any age. It is estimated that 18 million people in the UK experience hay fever. The worst season (when grass, plants and shrubs release pollen) runs from March to October. The best advice is to try to avoid the triggers that cause hay fever, but where that isn’t possible, there are a number over the counter treatments available. Our pharmacy team will be happy to provide advice. If you are still concerned, visit your GP who can can prescribe medication.
