Mr Vakharia is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with specialist training in advanced
laparoscopic surgery. He holds and NHS consultant post at Barnet & Chase Farm hospitals which
are part of the Royal Free NHS Trust. He is currently the clinical director for women’s services for
these two sites.
Mr Vakharia qualified from the Royal Free & University College Medical school and trained in the
North Central & East Thames rotation. During his training he also completed additional training at
Birmingham Women’s Hospital where he completed his advanced training in laparoscopic (minimal
access) surgery.
Through his additional training he became proficient in the minimal access management of many
gynaecological conditions which includes endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, heavy menstrual
bleeding and he manages these on a regular basis in his NHS practice.
In addition to the above, he regularly manages patients who present with pelvic pain, period pain,
couples who are have difficulty conceiving, and any general gynaecological issues.
In addition to his clinical work Mr Vakharia is passionate about service delivery improvements,
training and medical innovation.
