Biography
I am a Consultant in plastic, reconstructive, aesthetic, laser surgery and burns at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, UK. I have held the posts of Lead Clinician of the Burns Unit, Chair of the London and South East Burns Network and Education Chair and Executive Member of the British Burns Association.
I am the Chair of the Burns Special Interest and Advisory Group (SIAG) of the British Association of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgeons (BAPRAS) and a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College School of Medicine.
I was a fellow in adult and paediatric burns and adult and paediatric burns intensive care at the Shriners Hospital for Burned Children in Galveston, Texas, USA. I specialize in all aspects of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. My main interest and subspecialty is burns surgery, the plastic surgery management of difficult and complex burns, scars, wounds and any conditions with extensive skin loss. I am a long time user of the latest techniques for scar management and skin resurfacing including laser technology. I participate in research directed into wound healing, methods of early detection of infection in burn injuries and delivery of drugs via biomaterials into burn wounds.
I teach and publish regularly on all aspects of burns management and burns reconstruction.
